cruise ship markets

The Cruise Ship Markets started in 2017 and has had continued success up until the last cruise ship left us on the 15th March 2020.

Due to Covid-19 and the Level 4 lock down nationwide, sadly meant we had to close our markets. Under normal circumstances when we have two ships in port our markets are held at the Port Chalmers Town Hall. When we have only one ship in, our markets are held at the Port Chalmers Pioneer Hall. Our stall holders are proud to welcome all passengers when the ships return.

During Covid-19 Lock down I decided to hold our markets during the off season. This is where the idea of the ‘Artisan Markets’ came about. We are allowed to have our markets at TLS Orange and these markets are held in the Port Chalmers Town Hall and Chalmers Room. Because of strong demand from both the customer and new stallholders coming on board I now hire the Pioneer Hall for these markets. I usually hold them the second or last Saturday of every month during Winter and Spring. These markets will continue on a monthly basis and/or until the return of the cruise ships

This market features most of the stallholders from the ‘Cruise Ship Markets’ and others who like to do the occasional market with us. All our stallholders live in Port Chalmers or the surrounding district.
